Having the obituary already written and on file with your funeral provider, is not as difficult to do as you may think. The purpose of the eulogy is to pay tribute to the deceased as a distinct individual, with unique talents and gifts, who will live on in the memories of the people who loved him.
The audience for your funeral speech couldn't be more sympathetic and welcoming, and your deep feelings for the person who died will make the eulogy powerful. An important step is to consider the finer points of the life history of the person. Some people come up with serious speeches honoring the deceased person while others would rather show the humorous side of the deceased person.
You can see yourself reading the eulogy as a way putting in a good word for the person on behalf of many of those present. A Celebrant will honor a family's wishes and will present either a religious or non-religious gathering. People who read the obituary should feel a sense of loss or should feel they ought to have known the deceased.
